photos

This was my second photo shoot of the boy with downs syndrome. I didn't think they came out as well this time round however i still did get a few good ones, but had various different problems with the focus as it was on auto focus and i didn't realise this until near the end when i changed it to manual focus. Some images also came out quite dark.

These are some photographs i took outside, they came out quitr dark and some of them are out of focus, but there is some good experession on his face which makes the photograph natural looking.

These photographs of him playing in the sandpit i thought worked quite well in the previous photo shoot, however this time they were quite blurry as the focus wasn't quite right and a bit over exposed, not showing as much detail as if the photograph was darker. However they are natural and show him playing, showing that he is not aware of me taking photographs.

My tutors suggested that in this shoot i should aim to take more photographs of just objects to show what kind of person i am photographing before showing their face, and also it shows what the person is interested in.

The boy playing with his toys inside the house, where you can also see his mothers hands and his beacer being introduced.

Him drinking out of the beacer, however the images could have been cropped better when taking these photographs, and the flash has created a red eye in one of the photographs.

The beacer, i managed to capture a shot of just his hand holding the beacer showing that he actually uses it and its not just another cup, however it is slightly out of focus, but there is quite a nice shadow behind the beacer that i think works quite well.

The mum being introduced in these photographs, helping him solve a jigsaw. I like the way the hands are in some of these photographs, showing they are working together, and it's more than just one person in the photograph.

The highchair again showing that he is a young child and spends time sitting here at meal times and doing various different activities. I also played around with different focuses to see what worked well and what didn't.

The gate on these stairs suggests a young child and also a safety feature for the little boy.

The bars on his bed i found quite interesting to photograph, as it shows that it is a different kind of bed and the bars could help him get into bed and stop him from falling out of the bed.

Toys in his beroom, showing what kind of things he is interested in and what kind of persons room this is.

Over all i think i got a few good photographs. When i go back to uni after the holidays i will show my tutors these photographs to get their opinion, but i am thinking that when it comes to my final piece i will use a mixture of these photographs from this photo shoot and the previous photo shoot. The photographs of the objects i think were the strongest in this photo shoot which was something i didn't do in the previous photo shoot and would be good to include into the final piece.
