Today i am focusing on thinking about how i want my photographs to look. I took some photographs last night of some handles, and after a while i was able to get the effect i wanted, however when i started to take some photographs of my mum, using her as part of some practice photographs, the photograph was making the whole of the photograph blurry or sharp, when i want the background to be blurry and the person to be sharp.

I talked to my tutors and showed them what i took last night and the problems i had and they said that i need to put the camera on a tripod. They said that they would help me to take some photographs of people on the next studio day which will be thursday. I thought it would also be worthwhile going up to the photography department to ask their opinion. They suggested that if i use a low F number and a shutter speed of 1/60 on a manual setting i would hopefully be able to get the image i want. Tonight i will try this out, using a tripod this time and also experiment using flash as this was something the people in photography told me to do.
